Moving from the vibrant energy of Jamaica to the States has been quite the journey, but I’ve brought my island soul with me. Back in Jamaica I have spent some time in the classroom as a trained high school teacher, and that heart for service has naturally led me into Special Needs Adult Care in the United States, a role that requires the same patience and dedication I’ve always valued. When I’m not working, I’m usually looking for a way to channel my inner athlete or artist. I grew up in dance theaters and on the netball court, and while I’m still searching for a good local game here, the rhythm is still in me. To balance it all out, I’m a huge advocate for “peace and quiet.” Whether it’s a dedicated self-care day at home or a solo trip to a new country to recharge my batteries, I’ve learned that taking the time to travel and breathe is what keeps me grounded.
